About June Ho
My name is June Ho Yeo and I am a Ph.D student in Applied Physics at the University of Michigan. Largely an idealist, my interests lie with solving problems with quantum solutions rooted in the elegant beauty of physics. I also (something something real space, something something chemistry intuition) ...
My current research interests involve investigating potentially interesting chiral states in twisted multilayer two-dimensional materials through optical methods. One characteristic optically accessible state in two-dimensional materials is the exciton, which notably carries a polarization and can be coupled to fields and (meta-)materials via spin or other observables with similar symmetries.
I am conducting my research with Prof. Liuyan Zhao at the University of Michigan in an experimental condensed matter physics group with a focus on developing laser-based techniques of every facet to manipulate and probe all sorts of interesting quantum materials, spanning correlated, topological and dimensionally confined materials.
